Who Are We?

We are No.33 (Westport) Squadron and are a part of the New Zealand Cadet Forces (NZCF), which is a military styled, youth training program that is split into 3 different branches, similar to the New Zealand Defense Force's (NZDF) Air Force, Navy and Army branches. Our squadron is in the air branch of the NZCF known as the Air Training Corps.

What Do We Do?

As a cadet you'll learn many differnt skills ranging from navigation to first aid and rifle shooting to ironing, although as an ATC squadron we also cover aviation related topics, which is reflected in our training program, and some of the Cadet Force Courses that our cadets are able to apply for.

CONSIDERING

AN ADVENTURE?

If you're between 13 and 15 years old give Air Cadets a try! You might surprise yourself and build your confidence. Maybe you'll be in command of a squad of cadets on a bushcraft exercise, or become a top marksman at rifle shooting or even fly solo in a powered aircraft! Once you join you are able stay until your 19th birthday, and over that time you will be given the opertunity to grow your leadership and self-discipline skills, move up the ranks, lead others, and have unforgettable experiences!
